The Bone Girl

Image
The Bone Girl     I hear whispers in the night as I lay my head to rest. I assure you I am not ill, I am not mad in the mind or body. Quiet whispers I tell you, tickle gently upon the canals of my ears before each rest at midnight. Like wisps of wind through an empty hall.   But oddly, I fear them not but I am quite gripped in confusion. As if lost in a room of mirrors, I am finding no exit. But I do not allow my lost mind to be wild. I keep my wits about me as I lay myself to rest.       What these whispers say I do not know. They are foreign in tongue, or so I think. I reach out to my doctor, he gives me no advice but to take pills to help me rest. He states, "It may be your lack of well rest. Often the mind will become delusional if not sufficiently resting."   I take his offer of pills and yet, I still hear the somber voices that trickle from the air. I am not mad I tell you, I swear. There is no delusion of m...

A Brothers Envy

Image
A Brothers Envy Her arms spread wide to the wind as it passes through her hair. Her locks flow with majestic breath of nature. Her eyes of emerald blue watch as the sun slowly falls. The clouds disperse as her dragons wings wave effortlessly through sky.  She feels no danger, no weight of life bearing down upon her. She is free, weightless as she sits atop her scaly friend. His skin, blazed in the colors flames. His eyes, as dark as the the unseen surface of the moon.  His wings span further than two homes side by side. He stands six stories high, he is the largest of his kind. But he is of no threat to the world, for his mother, Sasha, who sits atop him. Has bred him in peace, but he is no stranger to violence.  For once they ruled with respect, the greatest kingdom of all. The kingdom of Raulled, a place of great power, but of great love. It was a place where all could be as they wished and do as they pleased in the bounds the kingdoms law.  Sasha rul...

A Boy's Shadow

Image
A Boy's Shadow    It's a cold winter morning, before the sun has risen. Snow covers all inches of the neighboring surroundings. The sky is engulfed in dark feathery clouds. The air is silent as the soft trickling of snow obscures with beauty.   On this cold winter morning, a young boy, the age of thirteen wakes from his slumber. From his dream of dragons and wizards. He opens his eyes slowly, gathering himself into reality. Like picking the last few pieces of a puzzle.    Awake, he sits up in his bed, as he does, something strange rushes through his body. He loses his ability to breath, but only for a moment. His skin flushes pale as he loses breath. What ever passed through him. It felt as if it was a dark presence, something ghastly.  The boy, feels his body regain control, his lungs fill with air. A sigh of relief overcomes his chest. But as he sits, he ponders the presence he just felt. He then remember such a moment, one as exact as this; bu...

An Ex and In the Head

Image
An Ex and In the Head    A disturbance came from the back room, Alice placed down her book and approached the door to the room. It was a cold evening alone. It was her first night absent with her lover. They had broken off their love due to career choices.  Alice was always the one driven to work till madness of exhaustion over took her. She finds her twenties to be the opportune time to supply herself with a giving future. But her boyfriend did not. Though Alice is alone tonight, it feels no different than she was in a relationship. For she was mostly alone working anyways. Approaching the door, she could hear a rhythmic thud, as if someone is repeatedly stomping their feet upon the ground. Thud, Thud.....Thud, Thud. She placed her ear to the door and carefully listened. But when she did so, the noise ceased. She then lifted her head from the door, the noise started up again. She stepped back with a gentle touch of fright. As she looked to the door with cur...

The Shadows We Breed

Image
The Shadows We Breed  My skin crawls, shriveling toward my anxious thoughts. My eyes oscillate in attempt to scour the darkness for hope. But there is no light, only the black breath of my falling thoughts. A cloud emerges from the tail of my tongue. I can hear the scurrying of rats in the pitch of darkness as I begin to cower to the corner. Hungry are they, and I a meal for the ages. I curl up in the fetal, shivering like a lonesome child. Afraid, abandoned by the warmth of love. Everything is desecrated, what is left, but to allow devastation and I to be consumed by that which lurks in this unholy of rooms? This dark cloud swarms my throat and I feel nothing but the bitter cold, like the first kiss of winter, after it has conquered the last field of crops; and I, that field. As I quiver in this empty room, I cannot see the shadows that form from my breath. But I can hear them as if they are my own voice, vivid are they. They speak with malice, trickling with lips of l...

Our Last Day: The Sphere That Saw Us, For Us

Image
Our Last Day: The Sphere That Saw Us, For Us  The stars were brighter than usual, the moon lay rested at its peak, glazed in a hue of turquoise blue. The oceans all across the world remained still. Not a single drop of rain was reported for twenty four hours. Birds were silent, their heads all looking in one direction, as if they knew what was about to happen. All the animals of world stood motionlessness. It took five hours before the world started reporting on this strange phenomenon. Nothing could be explained, there was no visible threat that could be found. No real danger was brought to the attention of earth. At least not until "It" showed up, something of unimaginable intelligence and unworldly design. It took only twenty for hours for it to hail chaos upon earth. Some how, though its size was that of a Pluto, it was able to bypass all radars and satellites. It landed fifty one miles just outside of Las Vegas. It created a crater large enough for Mount Rain...

The Hollow Horrors Of Melancholy

Image
The Hollow Horrors Of Melancholy  I close my eyes in rest. But I am no fool to what shall find me in my slumber. For my viscous melancholy has the say in my dreams. It has suffocated the colors that once flourished in the springs of my dreams.  It has coiled its leather body around the serene. Strangling the geysers of my imagination and I run dry of design as I seek to be clean. This demon, be it the spreading of the deranged, of my decaying brain. It flairs its wings and parades it fangs with each sleepless night at the strike of twelve thirteen.  Its eyes, darker than any hue of ink you have ever seen. Its breath like the heat of candle held to close to flesh. Its screeches as if it too, has become the victim of the horrific. Of the wicked workings of sadness and the obscene.  I would find no surprise to see that which haunts me. Is but another running from their horrors, but they have drowned to the cursed ravine. Now they haunt others for the ...
