The Ugly Place

Image
The Ugly Place   The trees are thick with tar, dripping from the smoldering breath of the crimson sun. The heat swells with moist humidity. Vapors of hot breath paste to the flesh like glue. While hands embrace feebly to tattered umbrellas to keep refuge from the goo of the lonely trees.  This ugly and forsaken place be the lands of Hollow Graves. An empty place where many lay but walk bare with nothing to say. Their lips crusted of pain, hydration is far from the soul. No rivers flow with water, only the blood of the dead.  The mountains bare no snow, only the flesh of those of womb. The sacrifices of the living, those who took what was not theirs. Snuffing the gift they were bestowed. Searching for a lasting escape from sufferings of the life. Only to find themselves torn with each repeating day.  Their flesh kissed by the mending lips of demons. Only to scream out to repent as the devils sly lips turn sharp. A Mountain Tragedy

Image
A Mountain Tragedy  It's an early morning, the sun has yet to crest over the mountain tops as we drive down from their man made veins. It has just rained, the water is settled upon the dark asphalt with gentle reflections. Ahead of our view is endless trees.  They hug the sides of the streets with great command. They stand silent, expressing a magnitude of brilliance, brilliance nature has built over millions of years. It has been three days since we were last home. Its bristled hair of green, its pools of tears and clouds of mist resonate deep in the soul.  You know you belong among it, yet there is an unfamiliarity of it. Like a distant cousin you have never met till today. You know your blood is of the same line, yet you know nothing o...

Finding Love among Ships

Finding Love among Ships   They are two orphans from two different towns. Both searching for that something else, that little bit of hope that will change everything. Both sixteen, both left to the hands of the state at the age of six. Both families unknown, children in the wilderness of abandonment.   Cold, dreary hearts they have. Always staring from their orphanage window. Watching each sunset and sunrise. Feeling a sense of claustrophobia. Both screaming for a chance to be free and soon enough they find that freedom.   On an October evening, just before the sun rests. They both unknowingly each had a plan to escape. To wander off into the world and fend for a new life. Both found a way to rid the orphanage, at least for one night and many more to come.   On this October eve, they both executed their plans. Sneaking past the staff they reached the outside of the orphanage. Passing through the gate and touching the street for the ver...
